This $50 million dollar IDOT project included the reconstruction and addition of lanes, a shared-use path, a sidewalk, and drainage improvements. Work took place in Homer Glen, Homer Township, Lockport, and Orland Park. INTERRA provided Quality Assurance testing and inspection for soil, aggregates, concrete, and hot mix asphalt (HMA). Services performed consisted of daily field inspections of concrete and HMA and Quality Assurance for soil and aggregates which included compaction testing on embankment, trench backfill and subgrade, and cone penetrometer tests on the pavement subgrade. INTERRA also conducted proof rolls on the subgrade. For asphalt the mixes included covering test strips and performing nuc-core correlations. Daily field reports were completed using IDOT forms and failing results were reported to the materials coordinator and resident engineer.
