For Clayco, INTERRA provided Quality Assurance services for the historic Macy’s on State Street located in Chicago. This structure was first built in 1893 as a nine-story development. It holds a rich history which presented some challenging components on the project. Now 14 stories, INTERRA’s responsibilities included testing of concrete, structural steel, masonry, and fire proofing. Testing and inspection were completed for thickness for fire proofing. Testing and inspection was conducted on materials to ensure the materials met the project requirements. INTERRA participated in meetings and oversaw field reports as well. These duties were part of the conversion of a portion of the Macy’s store into office condominiums.
